What's In A Name?
Hello, my name is Marsha
taken from Mark which means, "Brave." By what name do
you go by?
Don't you feel
special when someone calls you by your name whether in a
conversation or at a professional office? I love it
when Pastor Larry calls us by name and uses our names in
his sermons. It feels like he is not only talking to
his congregation but to me directly because he really
is.
I love it that our great Lord
and Savior Jesus, knows each and every one of us by
name. How special is that? When I am praising
and worshipping and thanking God here are some of my most
precious names for my Savior: The Great I Am, Wonderful
Counselor, Healer, Redeemer, Holy One, Majesty, Prince of
Peace, Immanuel, Lamb of God, Light of the World.
What are some of your names for your Lord Jesus?
I was in two
professional offices recently where they had my chart
and knew my name but decided to call me "hon", short
for honey. I was taken aback, because I too work in
a professional office and know my patients names. It
made me very conscious to use their names before and
during their visits. I, too wanted them to feel
special and cared for
